Our comparison algorithms, calculator rankings, and editorial recommendations are strictly mathematically determined based on user inputs and verified supplier rate sheets. Energy suppliers, charger manufacturers, or installation contractors cannot pay to rank higher, receive preferential scores, or alter calculation results.
1. How EV Rate Check Generates Revenue
To keep our tools 100% free for all drivers and homeowners without paywalls or mandatory email registrations, we generate revenue through two primary methods:
Affiliate Referral Partnerships
Some outbound links on our site (for example, links to energy suppliers like Octopus Energy or charger manufacturers like Tesla or Wallbox) may be affiliate tracking links.
If you click an affiliate link and subsequently switch tariffs or purchase hardware, we may receive a small referral commission at no additional cost to you. In many cases, these links provide you with a bill credit (e.g., £50 bill credit).
Display Advertising
We may display clearly labeled banner advertisements provided by networks such as Google AdSense.

- No Surcharge: You will never pay more for an energy tariff or EV charger by following a link from our website.
- Unbiased Rankings: If Tariff A is £180 cheaper than Tariff B based on your annual mileage, Tariff A will always be presented as the cheaper option, even if Tariff B offers us a higher referral commission.
- Inclusion of Non-Partners: We include tariffs and rebate programs from organizations with whom we have zero commercial relationship (e.g., British Gas, EDF, regional DNO grant schemes, Ontario ULO). Our mission is complete consumer market coverage.
