Independent EV Tariff & Installation Intelligence

EV Rate Check exists to provide clear, unbiased comparisons of home electric vehicle charging tariffs and installation costs across the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada.

Why We Built EV Rate Check

Switching from petrol or diesel to an electric vehicle should significantly lower your running costs. However, domestic energy tariffs are increasingly complex. With multi-rate time-of-use (TOU) schedules, varying overnight charging windows, regional distribution charges, and standing charge disparities, working out your true annual electricity bill can be overwhelming.

At the same time, quotes for home charger installations can vary by thousands of pounds or dollars depending on electrical panel capacity, cable distances, and local rebate programs. EV Rate Check was built to eliminate this confusion by providing accurate, formula-driven calculators backed by verified supplier rate sheets.

Our Editorial & Operating Principles

1

Verified Data Only

We never use algorithmic scrapers that guess energy rates. Every tariff and rebate in our system is sourced directly from supplier rate cards or statutory bodies.

2

Zero Commercial Bias

Suppliers cannot pay for higher rankings or preferential calculator results. Mathematical accuracy alone dictates the cheapest option for your driving profile.

3

Radical Transparency

We show standing charges, daytime rates, and off-peak hours explicitly. When a rate cannot be verified within 45 days, we visibly flag it.

Research & Editorial Team

Our analysis and calculators are maintained by energy market analysts and power systems engineers.
